Figuring out felting, nuno that is

This is my first foray into nuno felting.  I used a natural dyed (cutch) silk organza fabric with plum and lavender wool roving fibers.  I tried my best to arrange them in a smoke plume.

Process:  I laid out the scarf, and rubbed Joy dish detergent and cold water on the scarf.  I then arranged my wool fibers.  Next, I put a plastic trash liner on top of the scarf and rolled it up with a little bit of bubble wrap.  I secured it with rubber bands, and rolled it like 250 times.  I then unraveled and ran in under cold water.  I applied more Joy and cold water.  I carefully folded it and slammed it in my bathtub until my arm hurt.  It is now hanging to dry and I am spent.

My first scarf...well my second

This is my 2nd scarf undyed on my LeCleric table loom.  I threaded my warp using a 4321234 pattern.   While I think I might follow an established pattern next time, I am happy with myself.  It's the natural one in the center.

So I bought a LeClerc table loom and threaded my 3rd warp. I tried to thread it as a 4pt twill and am playing with different variations harness-wise.

Summer is Coming...along with an oil spill

This last semester of school prevented me to have any beach time. So between spring and summer semesters, I planned to go to the beach plenty. Well, much to my dismay, there is a surging oil spill in the Gulf coast boo hoo. Turning lemons into lemonade, I made some product for etsy.

This bag sold within days. I'm making more and here they are...
